well i,ll start this tonight briefly and end it when it gets finished.
ok well i took a chance and went against all the rules and bought this m3 off of ebay.i expected to collect a total dog but was pleasantly surprised to find it was owned by a former member of www.e36coupe.com
120k and in excellent condition, paid 'not a lot' for it.had it on a huntr alignment machine and its very very straight.has a good quiet engine so thought it would be the ideal candidate for a track/toy car.
i,ve thrown quite a bit at it but still wants for brakes, cage and a few other bits i want.
right now it has
3ltr m3 s50b30
schrick 284/284 cams
geoff steel racing carbon airbox
bmc f1 filter
lightweight power steering and water pump pulleys
e46 m3 crank pulley
supersprint decat with x pipe
eisenmann backbox
viscous fan removed
air con removed

uuc shortshifter

tein ss coilovers(pss9 going on soon)
eibach anti roll bars
powerflex polys replace all bushes except diff mounts(to be done)
AC schnitzer strut brace
bbs rc 18x8.5 wheels
toyo t1r,s

cobra suzuka buckets
momo wheel
storm gear knob
rear seats out
sound deadening removed
approx 200kgs weight loss
now weighs just under 1300kgs

will probably put AP brakes up front, roll cage plus a few more bits

ran a 12.9 at santa pod, beat every m3 including a csl in a straight line there.
that will do for tonight i think
heres a few pics and a soundclip

listen to the soundclips.......

forgot to mention it made 286rwhp which 'allegedaly'(sp) to 335bhp and had 284lbft torque.reckon its good for a little more as there was a faulty throttle position sensor.maybe not but either way its mapped on throttle position now as its had the afm removed.

also forgot
mapped by wayne schofield at chip wizards
full service history,loads of stamps
mobil 1 0w40 oilcastors and cambers set up by geoff steel racing, turns in a LOT better than a standard m3 and seems to have endless grip(unless wet)

very fun to drive,very loud!!

Very nice, I like that a lot and it sounds just like an E46 CSL too which has got to be a good thing!

Keep us posted on your project young sir and keep up the good work.

Great!!! I want to do something like you've done as well but although the M3 really looks great I'm still not sure about it's character and lack of charm.

i,ve took the centre armrest out now, just need a non armrest centre console.
REALLY enjoy driving this car,i had an m3 evo before this and this is soooo much quicker, louder, stiffer, everything but sometimes do miss the nice leather.its an experience to drive what with the noise!!
next month will see an m5 clutch and lightweight flywheel and bilstein pss9 coilovers.
really need to do the brakes but am waiting for a good deal to come up,just cant part with the best part of 2k for some ap brakes with pagid pads.the standards arent too bad for road use, plus it stops me driving like a loon because i know it wont stop well, lol.may just upgrade the discs and pads, fluid etc, much cheaper but not ideal

thanks for the comments,much appreciated
i liked it the other day when a bloke i know with a 360 modena and his mates were more interested in this than the 360 which looked neglected in the corner ....
