10/10 for Castle Race Engines
Discussion
over the weekend i've had my car to castle race engines at Northampton and i thought i'd write a little post to say how supurb the service was, i had a timing and a misfire problem, had my car to 5 garages including a main TVR dealer, every time getting the car back in the same condition, can't find the problem was all i'd get from them then a bill for doing mothing, jamie at CRE actually took the time to help and in the end fixed what 5 (specialists???) could not do. Castle Race Engines are a company that cares about its clients. HIGHLY RECOMENDED AND WILL DEFINATLY WILL BE USING AGAIN. 10/10.
thats good to hear, i have just purchased ht leads etc from them really helpful, good products too,i really dont understand any garage charging for a fault they have not cured,as a garage you either keep going or cut your losses and give up.i wouldent pay the tv man for something he could not fix.
For the help Jamie gave us with the race car this year i'd say its Closer to 15 out of 10
We didnt know what to expect when we joined forces with the tuscan for this season, but it worked out brilliantly for us both.
The season started badly with some non engine related machanical problems, that could easily have had CRE wonder who they had got involved with and wanted to pull out. Did they, did they heck in fact they rallied round even more and put even more effort in to get us back in the title hunt. Id have no hesitation in recomending them to look at your car...
In fact I've even put my money where my mouth is.. my chim is going down to them for a work over... diff replacement, engine out refresh and tweek

Adam,
Sorry to hear that you got less than satisfactory service before you ended up at CRE. This is an all too familiar tale, I can appreciate where you are coming from that is for sure.
As you have discovered CRE care about customer requirements, and adjust the product to fit.
For my part Jamie agreed to build my 430 BV after a bad experience, we agreed the spec and price he delivered the goods and to be honest I am SOOO impressed with the way the engine pulls.
He even come round to my house on a couple of occasions just to refine the set-up, I didn't receive further invioceses or messages saying that I owed him money for this or at a later date either, what more can I say?
Plus even though his business is still very young he has provided race engine support to one of the Warwickshire and West Midlands TVRCC members Graham Walden who won his class in this years championship, all good stuff.
Top bloke glad yours is sorted, nice car I reckon you passed me on the way there, have you had your headlights converted to Speed12's?

Lee,
Pity we missed each other we had 19 cars turn up for the run down there on Saturday, which I was really pleased with.
The plod thing could relate to Gary Yellow cerbie, Blaine Wedge and me as we passed a scamera van on the way there. i was leading spotted it in what I thought was sufficient time and leant on the brakes in a drastic fashion...
, Gary and Blaine were not so optimistic and were left with the impression that a letter was in the post....mostly touching wood so far heard nothing been three weeks now, but haven't ruled it out all the same. The other thing that happened was one of the WWM crew got pulled for a rear number plate, something to do with size of letters I think, he had to rectify it and take it along to a garage to varify the rectification.
Not aware of anything else, but thats enough me thinks.
All the same fantastic day out good food, good company and brilliant weather, will be seeing most of them over the weekend I hope at the NEC Classic Car show loads of the WWM lot are setting up - manning - dismantling the TVRCC stand.
We are also having a WWM beer

festival in Birmingham Saturday evening oh err misses!
Oh my car is fine thanks still going well, just thinks it's an automatic looks like an ECU fault, as when I ftted wixers ecu (out of his 500 griff) the problem went away. Just need to source a new ECU from somewhere, toying with taking her off the road for December and januaury as I have a few jobs and mods that I want to get done.....
Hey fancy coming along with the WWM crew on the "Bogey Run" next May - June?
You'd be more than welcome after all you slotted in well with us on the way to Blackpool earlier this year?

Steve,
I'd love to join you on the Bogey run next year. As for doing more to your car......can you do any more!!! I feel it would only be fair if you stopped work on yours, and did all the work on mine ( free of charge) Worth a try !!
Have fun at the NEC mate

Lee,
You are welcome mate, at the mo I am looking at the first weekend in June, run down to Dartmouth area overnight, then onto the Bowgie Inn (Newquay) stay over then head back up the north coast of Cornwall and home.
Got a good crowd already should be fun.
Always something to do to her probably take her off the road for December and January to do the jobs.
Cheers,
Steve
