Another sunday late-night...another lvjost "just came back from a trip...."-topic....

Indeed I just arrived from a trip to munich (the german town in which BMW is located..). Visited my uncle and as we drove home quite late, the usually crowded german autobahn showed us all her beauty by being absoultely empty. Luckily this is one with a hell lot of kilometers without any speed limit. So today I finally broke the 200 mph -limit for the first time..And I could do it a few times today. It was even possible to keep speed at approx. 190mph for nearly 2 minutes...unless there was a mercedes going on left lane at speed of approx. 70mph...SO the AP Brakes are quite fine But as there is no fairy tale without message, there is NO Lutz-Topic without any problem being discovered:

Today two times engine didn´t take any throttle-data from the gas-pedal...Rpms went down and I could push the gas pedal without any effect. After turning ignition off and on again, everything worked fine again...My opinion is, that it should be a problem either with the ECU stop sending data to the electric throttle or with the potentiometer of the electric throttle...I think turning the ignition off and on, may have "resetted" the device(s)... Anyone experienced anything similar ???? What do you guys think ?

I'd imagine the ride wasn't that comfy at those speeds? not that you need comfort in a sportscar, but isn't that completly bonkers inside the car shaking problems or such???

ps did anyone ever do 200mph with a spider or can-am

Striker: Not un-comfty at all. The car is neither bumpy, nor shaking....you should be wide awake and 100% concentrated..but the car doesn´t make any trouble...

I should think that the quality of the road surface will probably play a large part in a bumpy ride and as the German Autobahns are well renowned to be smooth and flat there is indeed no reason to assume that 200mph will feel any more uncomfortable than 100mph, it just wont last for such a distance hehe
