Has anyone heard of a hard top conversion (Only for the rainy winter months) for the Chim?
yep see here www.pistonheads.com/tvr/index.asp?storyId=9862
NOT GOOD NEWS.
Got this reply from MW Restorations.
Unfortunately the Chimaera hardtops were not a great success for us and after 500 enquirys we only actually sold 8 units. They were expensive and time consuming for us to make and the profit margins were so minimal we were forced to stop production last year.
Sorry can't be more help.

I have always found Fabsil on the rear panel and garaging overnight keeps the interior pretty dry anyway. I would be more worried if I kept it outside but I think lots of owners do.
Also avoid the temptation to put the rear section down on very cold/frosty mornings as the rear screen is quite likely to crack.

Thompsons brick seal does the job.I used to apply two coats one a year and never had any problems, and that was with the car living outside most of the time in all weathers.
Thompson and Fabsil are fundamentally the same product but whilst Thompsons is formulated to penetrate brick and mortar Fabsil is formulated to penetrate fabric surfaces. I'd go for liquid Fabsil every time, designed for the job. Don't waste your time with spray on. Only brushed on liquid sealant can give you all weather seal. yeah they didn't quite make it look right, if they'd have stuck at it and done some real market research it would have been a winner... all it needs was a sleeker profile(think cerb) and a wider rear screen without the stupid quarter lites more people would have bought them

The Leven hood cover is extremely good for keeping the hood watertight whilst parked up.
It doesn't suffer from the same problems as an all-over cover, and by that I mean the very real danger of a wet & dirty car turning a car cover into sandpaper on a windy day and scratching the paintwork.
