Things I need before sprinting on 23rd
Discussion
Just though I would ask some advice about this sprinting lark. I want to know what more I need to do before I go sprinting. I want to attend the event at north weald on the 23rd of march
I have:
> Got the appropiate license through from the motor sports association (got to sign it and put a photo on it yet but can do that no problem)
> Registered for the acsme and guilford tyres championship and have got the yearbook/letter back
> My car has valid MOT/Tax/road insurance
I know I need a helmet and overalls, what else?
Many thanks
alex

Timing strut, vehicle docs, set of Pampers.... £1 for the scrutineering helmet sticker, tyre pressure guage and inflator good idea, worth taking some extra fuel and a small tool kit as well. Set of numbers. My website has details on struts and numbers BTW in the sprinting section.
I assume you have received the regs and sent off an entry form. If not you may already be too late as entries fill fast for the first event of the season.

Thanks for the reply steve.
I filled in a entry form for the championship. They have sent me a ACSMC yearbook and some decals.
Is there a further form that needs to be sent in for each event, if there is they havent sent me through one? If so where do I get one from? if its not too late. There are no explanations in the ACSMC handbook on procedures for entry.
Set of pampers, hmmm hope I wont be needing them
cheers

I have 'retired' from Sprinting due to family committments and will be selling some gear shortly including a Sparco race suit used less than a dozen times. If you are interested email me offline. Also have a timing strut somewhere in the garage which is yours if you buy the race suit!!!
davidy
PS I'm 6ft and about 13.5-14st, for a sizing check !!
PPS Sorry Ted for the blantant plug, but when I've photo'd it I'll put it in the classifieds.

Hmm, Not going to be sprinting on the 23rd now, the event is fully booked and there are about 20 people on the waiting list just in case sombody pulls out. Bit miffed actually because I didnt get the documentation to enter the event. The acsmc handbook doesnt tell you who to contact either or the process to go through.
Oh well just go to wait for the next one. Bit of a shame because North Weald would have been perfect for my first sprint by the sounds of it.
Best things come to those who wait I guess!
cheers

Is North Weald accessible to spectators as I would like to come along. I am doing the 1st Lotus driving tuition day there on the 25th, 2 days later and have also heard that he sprints at North Weald are great fun..
Cheers
Mark
No. Spectators are not allowed. Any vehicle will require a pass, and each competitor gets two passes: one for the car and another for a support vehicle. So volunteer to be a support crew for one of the competitors.
PS mine is already taken!
