Brembo's on GT3, First Track Day
Discussion
Took the GT3 to Bedford on Sat which allowed me to use the brembos (fitted by Par) in anger for the first time. In summary: Who cares about the noise on the road when they are so good on the track!!
I think the breaking was a bit better, hard to tell, but the major difference was the state of the discs at the end of the day. I used 2.5 tanks of fuel and had loads of track time (perhaps a bit too much but i was having a blast) and everything looked and behaved properly afterwards. Most noticable was significantly less break dust on the wheels than i had previously had with the standard discs and pads.
Oh, and one other thing: Huge thanks to the guy (was it Steve Rance?) that posted the video of him in his RS at Brands. Having viewed it over and over I finally got up the guts to try heel and toe at full tilt and it made a huge difference, especially on the S bend at the end of the long straight where i can now change down to 3rd and come out pushing really hard rather than going through at 4th and losing revs. I did come off at the S bend in teh afternoon when my heel didn't quite make the accelerator and the jump in revs when i poped the clutch threw the back end out quite violently!
