buckled wheels
Discussion
Well i've just had a 12000 mile service on my car with other bits and pieces done including a replacement air box(£100 second hand).Spent £1000 and it still didn't pass the MOT. Apparently both my rear wheels are out of shape, the MOT people described it as though someone has driven over speed bumps too quickly!!. It also failed on the emissions test so replacement lamda sensor or cat converter required. I have two questions really, would anybody know where a can get two good condition 18" anthracite spiders and secondly, can the lambda sensor/cat convertor be replaced by any decent mechanic as I have a friend who is cheaper than anyone else i know and live just around the corner from me.

Thanks for the advice, i went to Alloy magic and they estimated around the £350 + vat for the two wheels to be fixed and all four wheels refurbished. They've been there a week now and no phone calls so i'm hoping there's no bad news. It was actually the front n/s and the rear n/s wheels that were damaged, i was shocked when they took them off, quite bad dents on the inside rim.
Its quite common to dink the rims especially if you are running 18" wheels with 30 or 35 profile tyres. I managed to bend one of mine quite badly on a pot hole in the lakes, managed to get it bent back and replaced it when I got back to Yorkshire.
I now always miss pot holes whenever I can - it can get an expensive business.
