Hi,

I am currently narrowing down my possible choices for a sports car. However I am quite tall at about 6'5" (almost 2m for metric people). I know I have great difficulty actually fitting into many small cars (ie most lotus). I know the only way to really find out is to try it, but are there any six footers here who can vouch for the cabin space in a S series?

Thanks
ade

The body shape changed between S2 & S3, allowing the seat to go back further on the later cars.
Try one for size.

I'm 6'1" in an S2 - OK but seat right back. getting in and out with the shorter doors can be tricky but then that might be me age!!

However, S2 is leaving me this weekend, so bye-bye S2

Has to go to make room for the Griff

As the S would have been designed for Peter Wheeler to fit in, I can't imagine too many problems as he's a tall 'un himself, I'd imagine anyone shorter than Chewbacca would fit in.

However the S3 longer doors are a bonus for anyone taller than an Ewok!

I am 6' 3" and no probs. Looked for an S3 ideally so as I had the longer doors to aid getting in and out.

If Chewbacca want's to ride along, just fold down the top and he will fit in too

I'm 6'6" and fit into my S3 fairly comfortably, albeit with my knees either side of the steering wheel when driving. Mind you, on longer trips I can tuck my left foot down next to the clutch and pretty much stretch my leg all the way out.

Getting in and out isn't a problem - you quickly develop a technique for folding yourself into the driver's seat. I don't think I'd even want to attempt getting in and out of an S1 or S2 though, with their shorter doors, especially with the roof on!

There was also a factory option of different pedal boxes to suit taller (or presumably shorter) drivers. If you grovel in the drivers footwell you can see the version stamped on the metalwork. I suspect most S's came with the std. box though.

I had a 6'4" piephilic friend sit in my S and he was surprised how comfortable the driving position was for him. And for what it's worth I tried out a couple of Griff's and found them cramped compared with the S and I'm only 5'11"

Cheers

6'4" and a bit, with the seat lowered an inch I can even get in with a crash helmet on.

6' 2" and an S2. Definitely look at S3 and above in terms of door access and seat position. I find the headroom's OK though, especially with the roof off and it's one of only a few cars that allows me to see the horizon without the bloody rear view mirror blocking my field of view. Which can be handy on left hand bends

Once you're in I doubt you'll find a problem, the pedals are set well forward and there is quite a long seat travel. I've found tho' that there is a distinct and ungainly technique to getting out with the roof on. It's right leg out first, swivel your bum out then extract your left leg whilst balancing on the right. Yup you look and feel pretty stupid, especially in the rain. Roof off it's a cinch. As others have said give the different S models a go.

Don't think I need to add anything... but I'm 6'2" and the seat isn't all the way back in the S3.

I feel like a midget, being only 5' 9" ish. Thing is though I seem to have more trouble than you lot getting in and out of my S2. Must be me!

Roy.

I'm 6'7" and have no problem, feel a bit like the A team when I get in and out though. Once in it's snug, but comfy. Trick is to take the cigarette lighter out as this gives you another inch beside the wheel to play with.

I love it to bits, and I'm only selling to sort out money and save up for a V8S (need the extra power to lug the extra weight around, as when my Dad and I are both in, it has the power to weight ratio of a lada... ).
