I need an air filter for a weber 45, can anyone advise which type i should go for for least power loss?

I think K&N do 2 lengths, i guess the longer one is better (it it will fit). I quite like the look of (& price) the twin sock piperX ones, also available in 2 lengths, but dont know if they're anygood? I think the single sock ones arnt that great because they fit too close to the ram pipe. Does anyone have any rolling road evidence of whats best? (It seems that 'research' in the mags have put K&N out of favour, something to do with the metal lid and shockwaves?)

ive looked at the MED ITG filters / ram pie kits, very interesting but £170 though! Might be someththing for future development if i can be convinced they really are good but curious about k&N or piper type filters at the mo.
