I'll be filling it up tonight after fitting the rad. So... Fill it through the swan neck cap right? Run it towards the end with cap off to flush any air locks out? Any tips? thumbup

I filled up the coolant on the way you discriped. Some km´s after filling up, the water-temperature grows to 90° C, a good temperature. But, after driving the car pretty quick for some hours, the hot water passes the overflow just under the swan-neck-cap, goes through the black rubber-tube to the plastic-overflow-container. In it the pressure grows up too, passes the overflow of the cap of this container and reaches through the tranparent plastic tube the street-surface. After this, the water-temperature is just a little bit too high, about 95° to 100° C. Has somebody an idea, what´s wrong. Or is it normal that the coolant gets its "best-level" on this way automatically?

It's normal udo. When the system heats up the coolant expands and the excess is pushed out of the pressurised header tank. If you place your "tranparent plastic tube" so it's end is in the bottom of another plastic bottle (this bottle is open to atmosphere) then the overflow is stored here instead of on the "street-surface" so when the system cools down it can be automatically siphoned back in instead of air.

My car looks like it had this extra bottle as standard but TVR being TVR they may not have done this to all cars leaving the factory.

Well, all seems well. beer Did the sloping filling thing, started the engine towards the end and carried on filling, took it out for a short run, driving came back & let it idle....tumbleweed fans came on, on que. clap Let it cool down for an hour, checked the level, topped it up, took it for another short run, driving let it cool down toped it up to where it should be, pi$$ing down now so i'll go a bit further afield tomorrow.
