Had a taste of a Murcialago last week (along with a 430 and 996 Turbo) at Thruxton and I thought I would share my envy with all the owners here.

What a machine.

I arrived expecting the 430 to be the car that blew me away, and it did but not as much as the Lambo. I'm sure the Ferrari is the better track tool but with my lack of experience and skill I was never going to fully exploit the ability of any of these cars. On that basis, the Lambo won it for me on pure grunt and drama.

Yep the murcie is definately special. Not as quick round a circuit as the Gallardo and the brakes can be a bit iffy, but for outright drama, prescence and outrageousness, the murcie wins hands down everytime.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Andy.

In answer to your email...unfortunately yes! jester You are correct!

I can only offer up circa 340 hours though, even by my standards 400+ is a little scary.

Not at all. Your car ticks all the boxes that made me like the Murci.

Did the 355 day at Thruxton today, and saw that same Lamborghini as in your pic at the top of the thread. Just wish I had a few more laps though <sigh> as I might have lapped the Lambo in the single seater instead of just overtaking it down the pit straight. LOL!!

Beautiful looking and sounding machine though, and a great day out today.

It's good fun isn't it?

How many laps did you get? I only had a handfull in each car. Not really enough to get a proper feel for things.

Do they allow you to redline the cars or is there some sort of limit imposed?

Excellent way to spend a day when you should be working. I got three in an RX-8 as a passenger while the instructor pointed out lines and braking zones etc, then four as the driver building up to going as fast as I dare, I suppose. Then four in the 355, hitting 195kmh just before braking for the final chicane. Five further laps in a single seater limited to 4k rpm, although I hit the limiter just after the apex at Church corner and had it bouncing off that all the way to the final chicane. Final thing was hot lap as a passenger in an RX-8, which wasn't that hot to be honest.

As you say, just enough to whet the appetite, not enough to get a proper feel. It did take a bit of getting used to, driving the 355 - it's a long time since I last drove a left hooker (Fiat Panda in Rhodes 15 years ago, I think!), and it took a little while getting used to changing gear right handed, but lordy what a drive! 180,000kms on the clock too!!

I think the Lambo was possibly limited but not by much. I was getting close to the red line before up changes.

I watched the guys in the single seaters and they all seemed to struggle to get it out of the pits! Kangarooing all the way

How did you find it?
