Does anybody insure with Cornhill
Discussion
I have my Maser on an Allianz Cornhill policy. Recommended.
I made a claim this year when a nice nurse in a Fiat drove into the back of me - hit the exhaust pipe square on, drove the box into the wheel well, bumpers, misc scratches etc. Because it was 'no fault' I started down the no-fault legal assistance/helphire route. But they insisted on using their own bodyshop and even one of their staff said "that might not be a good idea". In the end I dealt with the claim directly with Cornhill. I asked to use a body shop recommended by Maranello (some place in Slough I think) and they agreed without a quibble - just saying they would have their loss adjuster call or visit the shop to check the quote. Took some time to fix - getting Maser parts over the summer is a no go - they paid without any problems at all. In fact they also paid the excess by mistake! I owned up - being scrupulously honest and as the no-fault legal assistance recovered all my excess anyway. All in all a positive experience! Apart from being without the car for three months...
