cerbera Protech kit

Hi can is any anyone tell me if the protech kit is any good compared to the nitron kit
and how much better it is then the standard. Not after tracking just better road manners
would be great. Only had the cerb for 4 days and already spending mony!!

Hi Ian,

I have the Protech kit on my 4.5 Cerb and it is a vast improvement over standard. It would be hard for me to say how it compares to the Nitron Kit as I haven't had them fitted to my Cerb, however, most who've had Nitrons also rate them as excellent. If you just want to upgrade the handling and suspension set-up of your car for normal road use and novice track use then the Protechs are perfect, if you want to do some track days at a higher level and have the luxury of splashing the cash then opt for the Nitrons.

I was advised Protech as against paying out the extra for Nitrons, so far I can say they have been absolutely brilliant, that is now after about 18 months and 5k miles. On normal and spirited road usage and truely awesome when on the track, it is a huge difference to the standard set-up and a most worthwile upgrade.
They make the car so much more 'planted' at high speeds. The whole car feels so much tighter too. My car was always bottoming out when playing on lesser roads and since the Protech upgrade and a period of settling in and slight re-adjustment this has been completely cured.
Talk to Joo at TCS, he is prob. the best person to advise you on the different options available.

Thanks for that, also are these something that you can fit yourself or do they need doing professionaly, modded other cars
so not worried about doing it. Thaks again for your input.

Good kit, good price, fitment can be a little tricky (geeting the spacers in ) but really nothing a resonably good amateur couldn;t do themselves.

Service for specing is also very good.

Have done about 1500 miles on mine now and no complaints so far.

There are other choices eg original TVR stuff when new isnt as bad as claimed, you can fit various other kits as well eg Gaz (slightly cheaper I think than protech). There is another kit (gone blank - memory failing me) that is cheaper again and is still reputed to be an improvement over original.

I got Pro techs fitted some months back for better road handling and track use, i found them to be an amazing difference to the confidence of the car, far better road holding and far more poise!

As for the track days well the difference they have made is unbelievable! it is a different car!

Speak to Joo TCS, he knows all there is to know about them..

Well, let's face it - ANYTHING is better than the TVR £20-a-piece standard shocks! Even crappy cheap AVOs.
