A lot of colours are TVR formulations and your dad may not be able to get the pigmentation to mix them do you think you can just get your hands on the cross refs to mix them I think not some of the formulations are mine and use pigments from one or more places and binders from else where but good luck

Tom, I don't think Formula Red was out in 1993 - or FR Pearl. Yours looks a solid colour anyhow - probably Monza Red P422-8RF7B. Just a hunch.

A friend has a Formula Red as the original colour on a Pre Cat Griffith.

OK I'm no expert - just reading a paint formulator web-site and gives earliest "Formula Red" paint as 1995. As it's TVR it could be anything though........ confused

Look for the body code as for the red this is a very early code for monza red the reason for the code change is one of the pigments in it was then no longer obtainable

Managed to find the owners handbook it has the paint colour down as formula red no tvr code all the other codes are mentioned E.G roof colour black tvr code vo119 . Very strange so the code P422/052 is actually monza red but the handbook differs, is monza red and formula red a good match was just wanting some touch up for stone chips and some for a badge i got off E bay , any guidance would be deeply appreciated .

spoke to the factory the other day re paint,i was told that even though there is a code for the paint on the inner wing, tvr have the formulas and there is no way any paint can be mixed by anyone else, apart from tvr its self.

I assume this applies only to TVR specials - I have always assumed that I can take my Imperial Blue (Ford Colour IIRC) Chim to any paintshop and get a good match
