Well, I did it...I listened to all your excellent advice (and to the fella's at Racing Green & Fernhurst) and bought a W Reg 450 (today, 'up north')...10.45 pm and just arrived back in North Hants...never has the M1 at night (and even some of it in the rain) been so much fun...lorries, what lorries!

As sit here typing with one hand and flicking through the owners handbook with other - I see my other half giving me 'that look' and I know that life will never be quite the same again (I mean its no different to her and her horses, surely!)..

Hello Owen,

Welcome to the joy of TVR Chimaera ownership. You'll have lots of fun and yes life will never be quite the same. Hopefully it will be smooth and trouble free for you, but the forum is a great place to ask and find answers.

Yes, Fernhurst have been very helpful and Racing Green certainly dispelled any suspicions I may have had about main dealers. The mechanic there (and I forget his name - apologies to the mechanic) was excellent in the time he took to share his knowledge and experience with me (at the end of the day in case anyone was wondering why he wasn't working on their car!) - it helped massively in buying the car I did.

Almost neighbours - I am in Fleet...interested to know who you use for servicing etc? I would like to go to a meet - joined the TVRCC today (well signed up today & waiting for the bits and bobs to come through). Being new to the 'mad house', I would appreciate any local advice.... Owen

Thanks so do I! Not an every day car (have a Landie and a sensible estate for that)...basically a toy and having waited so long for it...FUN I intend to have! I did the Police Advanced Driving Course some years ago so do appreciate the safe bit too...as for luck...I rely on the dance around the chicken bones before each drive! Owen

Excellent - gave that one a try with her (with just a slight hint of smug male superiority)...still waiting for my dinner (well she didn't have time with 2 horses to feed)....so (and I never was any good at maths) it seems that 2 will always be greater than 285....mmm must be something to do with co-efficiency...

As long as she's not a Russian called Catherine I expect you'll be worse.
