All this doom and gloom about values of cars dropping due to the factory announcement, I am looking around for a cheap car to replace my 500 I am selling and the prices are definitely higher than they were a few months back when I was buying for my business, I had a choice of several 500 below 10K, now the only one around not on an auction has done 100K!, where have all the £6K Chimaeras gone? I see there are a few cars I looked at still around but they were mostly miss-described or had serious faults the owners hadn’t noticed. All in all as far as values go id say they were on the up Somtime I just think we talk them down.

Agreed, they may be some panic selling that pushes prices down in the short term but over time values will recover. At the moment I would be happy to be sitting on a Griff (especially SE), Chim 500, Tuscan Vert or a Sag because the future looks bright for residuals, especially if production in the UK does not restart. James Agger is tipping Tamora's as a possible classic as there are so few and they are silly cheap at the moment.

When I bought my MG ZT it was before Rover closed, six months after it closed I sold it for more than I paid for it
