535i gearbox trouble

Hello was wondering if anyone could help me i have just bought a J reg 535i se
i was at a set of traffic lights, noticed they were green when everyone was bibbing,
went to pull away quick and all my gears went. after cursing and kicking it, 1st, 2nd and 5th came back. ive had a look under there but i cant see anything looks internal. can some one help with ideas what to do, is it eaiser just to rip it out and get one from a scrappy.
it doesnt look like the whole box just the bit on the end? (technical)
what is the procedure anything i need to know before i do this?
what sort of price am i looking at?
Has anyone got any drawings or info on where to get them?
the box number is 260.0.1302.92 but thasts not the bit n end? suppose its the selector box?
