Looking to buy the ESS backbox along with my supercharger TS1 system for the Z4.

www.esstuning.com/default.asp?c=shop&cat=93&subcat=170&subcat2=174&id=164

I've already had a bad experiance this year with the Miltek system, it was so loud and droned badly, especially at 1/4 throttle under load, I hated driving the car for a while. It was decribed as " Performance that blows your mind, not your ears!" hmmmmm

Does anyone have one or been in a car with one fitted. What did you think?

You know when you've been out a 2 hour thrash and the exhaust is much deeper and a little louder, well that's what I want when the car is cold rising slightly in volume as it warms up.

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at Remus. They do a version called PowerSund. It has a valve on one of the tailpipes (or in the back box-i'm to to sure) that can be turned with a key. This allows you to tone it down or turn it up as you like...

I looked into this for my 330 and googled but couldn't find much on 'Remus Powersound'. i did come up with a post on a 3 series forum once (I think it bmw3m or evoteknik) where one guy had put one on his 320 and was impressed.

Some sound clips:

I think these are prices fo rthsyem I have in mind here:

Thanks Dino D, like the idea of being able to self tune the exhaust sounds Shame they don't have a price listing for the 3.0 Z4.

As for future upgrades, going to fitted the ESS twin screw supercharger first, then do the brakes and think about a LSD. To be honest I only use the car on the road so not sure I'll get the full potential of it...

Will post up here when the conversion if finished, December hopefuly.

Hi Dino,

Yeah seen that one before... the Eismann race system is very very loud, similar to my Milltek.... although you do get a "Fast Road" or "Street" (can't remember the name) system which is quieter...

I've just ordered the ESS Twin Screw supercharger for my Z4 which will change the exhaust note somewhat
