Fire Extinguishers

This has in some part been covered in older threads, but I would like to canvass the current members' experiences/opinions on this one. I have been toying with the idea of carrying a portable extinguisher in the Can-am, located maybe behind one of the seats. Then I got to thinking about how practical it would be if there was a fire under the rear clip. Ideally I didn't want to get into a fixed system but to be honest I've never experienced a car fire. Has anybody got first hand experience or good knowledge they can impart ? Also what type, make, size etc. fire extinguisher should I be going for ?

I fitted one of these, after seeing another owner install pics, and driving past a car that had caught fire on the M25, though according to the manufacturer even one of these would only stall a serious fire.

It fits nicely behind either seat, I opted for the passengers for obvious reasons.
Perhaps a wee bit pricy, and maybe not needed for a Canam where escape is easier than in a GTR...

The link is a bit odd, you need to include the whole of it including the numbers on the end rather than just clicking on it.
Peter sounds like I did something similar in my GTR with a Lifeline Zero 2000 electrical system. But don't forget even an electrical one needs a "shocked" occupant to press the discharge button.
At the factory open day a guy was talking about a system that he sells that is a charged/pressurised pipe that you route all around the engine bay. It then delivers the powder where needed as the pipe blisters and bursts at the heat source. Advantage is it is self arming, but probably FIA approved or such.

I have a full installed system.
Seems the only way to go when you have so much invested in the car.
Mine lives up under the dash but in hindsight I have not had many passengers who would suffer from the passenger footrest being a little closer so behind that would be ideal if I had to do it again.
