No Italian Manufacturers at NEC show?
Discussion
Just had a look at the exhibiters listings for the upcoming Motorcycle & Scooter show at NEC and I notice that none of the Italian makes seen to have a presence there...
I would have expected at least Ducati UK to have had a stand.
For something that's billed as the Motorcycle and Scooter show I'm also surprised by the lack of Scooter manufacturers as well, other than the Japanese presumably, as as with no Italian makes and no Peugeot either it'll be a little light in that respect as well.
Pity, as I was hoping to use the show to suss out twist n go's as I'm soon to start work in Central London and have come around to the idea of the economics and practicality of the scooter route rather than using a m/c.

I'm not sure but I think Ducati were there last year. It maybe the case that they have a dealer representing them this year but won't know that until we get there. I cannot remeber Aprilia EVER being there since I starting going about 5 years ago, the UK market and cost of the show doesn't seem to warrant their presence at any show in the UK!!

Yeah, Ducati were there last year.
Definitely no Italian exotica, aside from those brought by individual stands. A reasonable showing by the Japanese, and the American contingents, but sadly lacking the sparkle delivered by Italy.
Not a bad show, with a reasonable mix of trade stands, clubs and manufacturers. The bike park is indoors, and done via ticket and initials, so seems secure enough (posting this from the press office, so will see later
)
Plenty to catch the eye of any mini people you choose to bring along, from video games to a dedicated mini-rider exhibit, but sadly enough there seems to be enough spandex slinkiness to put off any "other halfs". Damn glad I'm single then...
Prices arent horrible, and have just picked up a set of Arlen Ness leathers for just over £500, which is nice. Now how the hell do I get them home?
