Anybody coming from Croydon Direction?
I was hoping to be able to go tonight mate, but, am on call and had some problems at work today with some workers going through a power cable at Sandilands knocking out the signals and once E.D.F fix the cable i'm sure i'll have to go in to reset the signals, and i just know it would be around the time i got to the Hautboy so would have to come straight back.
Glyn.

Dunno. Im rugby training tonight, for my sins

Where do you play? I am looking at dusting my boots off and am keen to join a club.
Im not strictly a Surreyite. I play for Horsham. Just over the border in West Sussex. Where are you? May be able to suggest one or two clubs if Horsham is too far from you?

I heard the position you play is :
Bar anchor weight.
Just so it's still there when the team finishes the match

I'm in Cranleigh so Horsham is pretty close. There is a club in Cranleigh but I'm not sure how many teams they run / what level etc.
Cranleigh are OK as it goes. Run 3 senior sides. IIRC they're in London 4, which is the league above Horsham, but we'll be pushing for promotion this season back up there following demotion last season. We (the 3rds/Casuals/Vets) usually play their 3rds in local cup/friendlies each season.
More than happy to meet you at Horsham one Thursday evening (training night) and introduce you. You can bring your boots but, being The Casuals/Gentlemen of a certain age, if there's not enough of 'us' there, we retire to the bar as those 1st teamers are far too young and fit

I think casuals is a good place to start as it has been a few years since I've been in the mud. Where is the Horsham ground? I think I've played there before but not sure. I remember playing out in Mannings Heath once but can't remember if that was Horsham.

Yeah that'll be Horsham's ground at Coolhurst (half a mile from Mannings Heath)

Appologies for pinching non TVR related bandwidth

Nick, if you keep talking rugby were going to have to come over and see you in action, at the bar and on the pitch ;0)
A big thank to Kevin and Sylvia for holding the fort on Thursday night at The Hautboy as Steve and I were otherwise engaged. If anyone is not already on the Surrey e-group then please e-mail me through my profile as details have now been issued about the Christmas Do
and the 2007 "Diamonds are Forever" 60th Anniversary TVR Champagne Run
. 25 cars are already booked up so it's going to be huge!
