nope the road car engine needs quite a lot of work to fit, and i think the electronics are different.

it can be done though. Richard Wright has a road car engine in his.

Joolz at track car solutions has done one.

Actually it is relatively easy. Chop the chassis tubes beneath the engine to accomodate the wet sump and thats about it, other than needing a different shaped swirl pot to get round the front pulley.

The engine mounts the same way, and if you have race throttle bodies then they bolt straight on. Electronics are the same, you can use the race car ECU, water rails and exhausts, bellhousing ....

hehe maybe its just me but i dont class chopping the chassis about as easy yikes other than that yeah its probably not too bad if you have the race car ancillaries, but the guys i spoke to about using all the roadcar bits said it was a mare as everything is in a differnt place... I also understood the roadcar ecu doesnt mate with the race car loom?

is the race car bellhousing different as well ?

Yeah if you're putting a road engine into a race car it's all different .. air boxes, inlet manifolds, throttle cable and end, oil pipe sizes, engine mounts, exhausts, coolant rails, radiator/swirl pot, loom, first motion shaft in gearbox, ecu. By far the easiest route is to buy a race engine from the factory/ john reid.

The car i had had a course spline input shaft .. is that not common to all? It was supposed to be a complete car minus engine but was anything but, the customer was royally done over aparently by the guy who sold it to him, it had none of the tuscan specific items on it, didn't come with the promised spares either. a sorry tale.

As you are simply removing the cross brace under where the engine sits, it is easy.

Fitting a Chevy, on the other hand......
