went to a drivers dream day at brunters a few months ago and had a top time,

started out on sighting lap in scoobie, then 4 laps driving a porsche carerra wich was good.

then my misus drove a lotus for a few laps.

but nothing was gonna stop me from going out in the murci, ive been reading your article in evo for some time and was great to see it in the flesh.

shame u had to use the silencers tho lol

damm noise regs!!!

i had the choice of driving or a fast passenger lap and after alot of thought decided it wanted to see what i could do by the man who owns it and jesus what a machine,

so big thanks.

some pics

the misus and lotus

the man himself and me before the lap.

cheers again.

lee,

It's nice to see a positive thread, there's a none-too-complimentary thread on SELOC (Lotus forum) at the moment about these days

The none to happy thread :

www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=320279&p=1#

I would say over 95% of people who I take out enjoy it.

Low blow! laugh

Simon's the most camera shy Lambo owner I've ever met. I'm sure he thinks Interpol are after him, or something! laugh

i dont understand why not??

all the prices are very clear and how many laps u will be doing etc.

in the porsche the instructor was egging me on to apply more throttle, more speed and brake later.

going out on the fast lap with simon was just awsome.the words "ill just turn the traction off for this then" before we set off have never sounded so good lol

also he was a tp guy, really down to earth and a good laugh,

it sounds to me like the guy who has written that thread and attended the day was expecting to go there, thrash a very expensive car to within a inch of its life, peform huge sideways smokey slides in full on jeremy clarksons private airfeild style and the instructors have deemed him too aggresive so they have hit the red button to calm him down.

i can say yes u have to wait a few mins for the cars but at the end of the day u are there all day!!! if u simply jumped in,did your laps and went it would be a very breif experience.personally when i wasnt driving i was enjoying seeing other supercars lapping brunters.

not once was i limited in my porsche nor my misus in the lotus, and we both changed gear full throttle just short of the limiter, the instuctor tells u before u leave that he is looking for a fast, smooth and in controll lap.

anything else and he can "cut in" to calm it down.

and i know the flying carrot didnt take it easy lol

I'm assuming that the poster of the other thread wasn't driving Simon's Murci so it's probably safe to assume different owners have different rules.

the porsche and lotus were drivers dream days own cars im pretty sure,

the only owner i saw who were taking people out on my day were simon.

the other gallardos and murcis were just parked up most of the time and used for the "lambo" experience people like the other poster.

but the lambo fast laps were in simons car only.witch i didnt drive i opted for a passenger lap.

each to there own i suppose, but hey i had a great day and was limit cut free with my cars lol

I was under the impression that all the cars are independantly owned (to some extent).

Is this not the case?

Thanks Lee for the compliments!
Most of the cars there belong to Drivers Dream Days apart from my Murcie, Andy's Gallardo and a V8 Vantage. They just hire us in cos it makes sense I suppose.
However we're doing our own thing next year (as well as Drivers dream days) under our own company www.6thgearexperience.com so if anyone wants a crack at the LP640 or the Murcie at Elvington then have a look at the site..
Thanks again for the positive response

Simon,

I see that you have added Teesside Autodrome to your list of venues now!

Think I may have to spend some cash to drive the LP640 cloud9

Brochure request on your website is a little bit 'ghetto' - birthday rolling round so might treat myself.
