Hi - without spending bucket loads of the elusive, which would make the more characterful car - love it to sound as raucous as the 174 GTA does from behind - inside - possible?

IIRC the 3.2 has traction control, 20 more hp and more low down torque, other than that its mostly down to personal preferance on the looks. As far as the noise is concerned they are quite quiet as standard, I have fitted a straight through rear exhaust section(removing 2 silencers) on mine and it sounds much better without being too loud. A carbon induction kit also gives a bit more power and induction noise but I have not fitted one yet. If you do get one, get the rear suspension powerflexed, as the standard bushes don't last long and it tightens up the handling. I was very impressed whith how much differance the bushes and a 4 wheel alignment made to mine.

They also tend to leave you stranded with a dead MAF sensor every so often...

Regarding 3.0 vs 3.2, its basically down to looks. Most people prefer the Phase2 looks over Phase3, but beauty's in the eye of the beer holder...

Phase II 3.0 is IMO far better looking than the 3.2 - the nose job is simply all wrong.
Many owners who have fitted carbon air-boxes have suffered with air-flow meter problems.
They are all quiet but that can be solved with an after market exhaust set-up in varying degrees of loudness!

Get a 3.0, swap the pipes and enjoy!

p.s. lots more Alfa GTV/Spider/Brera chat here www.sportsalfa.com

A lot of people on sports alfa seem to highly reccomend the BMC cabon induction kit and say that it does not cause MAF failures, now i'm confused

Mass Air Flow.

All I can say is that I've stuck with the OE airbox and haven't had the dreaded failure in 5½ years...

I'll spoil the statistics now... Mine's got the original box and had to have a new AFM wobble

Very pleased with my 3.2 Spider, done 22k now. Standard except for a Novitek strut brace wich has improved things up front trmendously. Also a stainless sports exhaust (Black & White Garages) which enhances the V6 snarl.

I would have thought you could pick up a good '03/'04 for £12-13k.

The Alfa product guide states the 3.2 Spider as having a kerb weight of 1470kgs v the GTV at 1445kgs. Significantly lighter than the Brera and New Spider.

I expect the question related to the Phase II GTV 3.0 and Phase III 3.2 GTV for comparative purposes. It's well known that the Brera and (Brera) Spider are heavy lumps...

The phase III is supposed to be 1445 kilos, and according to the book my phase II is 1415 kilos.

yes - interested only in II & III not 2006 model! - Money chaps - distinct lack of it - think it will be a II GTV 3litre with de-cat + sports and best chip / re-prog

Anyone in Northants area with such a set up I could experience?
