Afraid I don't, but Steve Heath does new, improved ones which I hear are well worth it.

hmmmm...was thinking of going down this route.

I did want to change my shocks with everything standard and then go for the up-rated drop links to see what difference they made.

Had my Steve heath ones fitted last week front and rear. Diference is astonishing. Now corners very flat and handles much much better. Of course my old rubber ones may well have been on the way out anyway.....

Go for the steve heath ones !

I have just got a set of AVo's for £150!!!
Only been on a car for a couple of months and are in 'near new' condition.
I am going to start putting them on today if the wether holds out!
Went home at dinnertime and there is about half inch of water in the garage so it looks like i am going to get wet!!!

Desperately need to get at least the rear ones on as it is bouncing around all over the place.
Just thought i would change the drop links as well seeing as though i am going to be crawling around under the car.

Presume you discussed this with Steve Heath? What was his verdict? I have them fitted so have an interest in understanding what the problem was. Was it a material failure or incorrect fitting?

Any rod end bearing can fail if it runs out of travel, and that's easily done if it isn't installed with the correct alignment.

Andy, recently replaced both my fronts - they are obviously "handed" - I ordered mine through Racing green, I think stock is low for near side but ok for off side. I kept to original TVR parts, rightly or wrongly. I'll try and dig out the invoice with the part no.s on, although I think the part no. is stamped on the metal arm.

John called me when he found out what the problem was. Unfortunately I was on holiday and by the time I picked up the message a couple of days after he had left it, John had fitted originals because he desperately wanted the car back. The drop links have been sent back to me and I am still trying to fully understand what went wrong. Unfortunately, they have been on the car for some time and the break is already heavily corroded - which makes any real conclusion difficult to make.

There was also chassis paint on the links which may or may not have caused them to seize. I don't know whether it was this, a heavy impact, a defective joint, a soft bump stop, or a combination of factors.

I still have the original prototypes on my car and they have now been on it some 18 months and have done many track days and sprints. They get checked regularly to see if there are any problems. There are hundreds of cars out there that are running my drop links with no problems so this is very much a rare incident.

Such failures are not limited to aftermarket joints - the originals have been known to snap or come apart and the rear ones have even been known to rip the mounting bracket off the wishbone. I have even seen them bent and forced into the ARB itself when the alignment is not right.

It is worth regularly checking the links, irrespective of which ones are fitted.
