I finally managed to get along to a VW meet on Sunday. It was good to see some great cars and meet some of the people, but as you'd expect some of the cars were unattended because the owners were doing the rounds/getting some lunch/whatever.

One such car was Melv's 964 Cup car, but in his absence the history and spec information sheets he'd put in the car were a good idea. Maybe this could become standard practice at future meets?

What do people reckon to this idea, and what info would be interesting to include?

I think this is a good idea. Last year at the Uxbridge show one of our Griffs had a print from a rolling road session, some Griff info from TVR's website (BHP, torque figures etc) and some pictorial history of the car. It certainly attracted more attention than any of the other Griffs on the stand.

Many folk have no idea what's under the bonnet of these things. My car-fanatic neighbour asked me the other day if my Griff was capable of a sub 7.5 second 0-60. Many have just no idea of the power of TVRs.

Hey spread the word - information is good!

Angus - I like your neighbour story - how did you reply ? ? would be suave to grin knowingly and just say " oh yes, I think so..." but I would probably have to spoil his day with the truth.

When we organised a trip to Vernham Dean summer fete last year, we also did some info sheets to put on the dash, or wherever.

I put some pictures of the engine bay on there, too, as well as the interior, to make it easier to see if I wasn't there. Also TVR's quoted stats. Well, everyone thought they were real!

I had a chap at the Classic Car show yesterday who reckoned the Wedge had an 8 litre engine!! But he knew what is was though Perhaps he got the idea of a Viper and a TVR a little mixed up!
