Looking for advice on the vinyl upholstery, I had my car worked on by a “reputable” TVR specialist in the south and they f**ked up my centre consol piece, they actually caused a slit/cut just above the gear shifter. The reason I brought it in they dealt with well but they didn’t easily own up to the damage they caused.

I’ve had a repair done but in looks naff, I want to have it re-upholstered but I’ve been told chances of matching the colour and texture are remote.

I’m interested to know who in the south you would recommend to re-upholster the centre consol, if it can be matched, and how much I would expect to pay.

The company that caused the damage did say they’d fix it but they are a long way from me and I’ve lost confidence in them. I’d love to slag them off in public but it’s probably not the right thing to do. You all know them well. I’m really disappointed with many things about my experience with them

Thanks

Jack

Thanks for all the help folks! Getting the place in Southapmton to do it would be very handy, do they have TVR experience? I know that dismatelling TVRs is not something you should leave to the unexperienced!

Regards

Well they did the carpets in my old 's' - did a fantastic job as well and were very happy for me to supply details of all TVR 'issues' prior to starting the job. I actually took a video of the car before hand so that when I got it back I would be able to be sure all was as it should be. They only made one small mistake where the new carpet was stopping the rollover hoop from dropping completely. Gave 'em the vid and the sorted it within minutes.

I know they have since worked on a few more TVR's but not sure what jobs they have done I'm afraid - they are good though and do work on interior retrims and new roofs for all the major prestige dealerships in the area.

Only link i could find here:

Sorry, yes I did know what you meant, but it did take a second for the penny to drop. I'm only fick you know! What would you call it, that is a good question. Rollover bar implies crash protection, which it obviously isn't. Targa hoop?

Good one I like it!!! But then of course as we drive TVR's, surely we shouldn't be worrying about what is behind us......unless of course it has blue flashing lights!!! nuts

dont know how this was posted twice!!!

And most things with blue flashing lights in the newcastle / gateshead area are metro's or ford focus...no chance of them keeping up...apart from the one that followed me to my house asking if i was taking the pcensoreds
