Just had an excellent hoon home. Open, sweeping roads, good visibility and lightly trafficked; twice the distance of my usual route but only 10mins longer. The 911 as a daily car is really starting to pay off. On the main roads the only aspect of the car you can really enjoy is the acceleration and how easy (and safe) it is to overtake. However, nicer weather and lighter mornings/evenings means getting off the main roads and having some fun. Below 3 figures, the handling of this car is just awesome- front end has loads of grip and you can really fire it out of corners- I love the way the rear end just 'sets' when you nail the throttle on the exit. Bloody marvellous- I bought this car on the basis of being able to cram more hours of hoonery into a week and it's working at last.

Kevin you've just given me a great idea I'm taking the Porsche into work tomorrow but I've got the afternoon off! The car has had a fair bit of work done on it lately, but now it's all sorted so I think a small detour via the downs on the way home is in order...

Have fun Andy! Your local roads are excellent and it'll be sunny too Might well follow your example and nick off early for a blast.

Glad you are getting used to the car 456 and having fun..
Does this mean the front end handling characteristics are less of a problem to you now & that it was more a case of adjusting to the handling characteristics of the car?

Kev,
Glad the 996's virtues are growing on you.....have to agree with you wholeheartedly about the handling of these cars.....wonderful.
