Argh smoke... but fixed I think

Had a Cerb adventure today. I was out buying fake blood and whiskey for tonights craziness & started my car up in Tescos car park. Almost immediately some foul smelling smoke started pouring out from the bonnet near the windscreen. I killed the engine and opened it up whilst grabbing for my phone ready to call 999. Had a look & it was coming from the manifolds and apparently under the cover where the clutch fluid goes - luckily I had some spanners and whipped the inspection cover off. There I found the clutch bleed nipple (haha i wrote nipple ) resting on the manifolds! It was extremely hot(!!!!) with fluid weeping out on to the manifold. I lost probably an inch or so of fluid (as measured in the topup thing) & luckily I had some fluid in the boot. I topped it up & pumped the clutch pedal until I had normal pressure again & wedged the bleed nipple pipe away from the manifolds. After putting everything back together I drove off in a cloud of nasty smoke which cleared after about 30 seconds & got home with no more hiccups!
Anyone had this happen before? Is my clutch bleed nipple now likely distorted and knackered from the heat? Will my clutch woes never end?! Other than all that, I had a good drive today

Glad you fixed it, bet you thought that it may be the last of your engine, or maybe even the car when you seen the smoke bellowing from the bonnet!

Bet you had a few funny looks fixing the car in the car park though didn't you ?!
