inside of phlenum

I`ve just removed the phlenum, and the inside seems quite oily, I know the breather from the rocker cover connects to this, but does this mean that the engine is not breathing very well?
I fitted a new filter to the left side rocker cover about 500 miles ago, its not that there is vast amounts of oil in there but definately a film over everything, is this normal or am I being paranoid?

I think its normal to have a small amount in there Clive, mine was just like thin film of oil and a bit thicker here and there. Was told by Johno about the reasons on how it gets there but cant rememeber why.

in the process of stipping evrything down cleaning, polishing and painting etc, and once the exhaust manifolds are off sending them off to camcoat, I`ll try to take a few pics when done for the griff pages.
