Dampers and springs advice?

Im looking to change the springs and dampers on my car.At present im on Redline springs and dampers,and have noticed im getting some creaking from the nearside front.On inspection ive noticed that the spring is rubbing on the damper,so i take this as spring sag? What im looking for are some reasonable dampers and springs to replace with.I dont do trake days only the tunnel runs so maxium performance is not an issue,and i dont want to spend bundles as ive commitments elsewhere.Was thinking of the Gaz set up?? What do you lot reckon?

What is up with Redlines? I have heard of probs with them before.
The (budget) choices are AVOs, ProTech or Gaz. Personally I would go Gaz. Ultimately I am not sure I could tell the difference between well set up ProTech and well set up Gaz.

My 98 4.5 sits very well on GAZ shox all round, no complaints at all and a huge improvement over the standard items.

this is a really interesting thread cos the redlines have been made by gaz and protech, just marketted under the redline banner.

Derek and I always agree on one thing here : ask around and spend your money with whoever fills you with the most confidence.

I was thinking the other day about why Neill Anderson hasn't launched his own range of TVR aftermarket performance suspension systems ... maybe he's left all that behind and is doing well with his consultancy

His consultancy recommends the fitment of certain dampers depending on what the customer is after IIRC, or atleast he does outside his consultancy to a select few friends. One of the sprinting lot runs with Neil Anderson's geometry/ damper specs (they are Nitrons) it certainly seems to work well.

I heard a rumour that once Neill was free from the shackals of TVR he was keen to work with Nitron dampers but I didn't know how true it was at the time. Seems it was right?

Anybody know who does the chasis tech at TVR now/recently?*

bearing in mind they've just been given their P45..

May have been a one off for a friend though, im not entirely sure.

I'd be very interested to know who TVR have held onto for the move to Italy, especially people like Graeme Browne... worrying if they've left alot of these people behind.

Have a chat with Warren at Topcats and he will suggest a damper/spring combo to suit your specific needs, he is not restricted to any one manufacturer and offers Gaz,Nitron and Ohlins I think.

£529 inc for the nickel/chrome kit, £646inc for the Gaz Gold composite kit, about £225 plus the dreaded for full fitting and geo from most of the installers.

I was aware that Dampertech Dave was selling the old Rod Avon inspired Gaz shocks, this business never ceases to amaze me on it's incest riddled nature, here we are with Rod back with Protech now.

On Intrax,Nitron and Ohlins I would run 350fr and 300 rear on the Cerb, on Avo's 400fr 325 rear, I run different valving on Gaz so run 400fr and 350 rear.
