Today is a sad day.

Well, the Countach has finally sold.
Really nice man came to look at it today, and was totally smitten (by the car, I hasten to add). It's due to leave tomorrow, and I've already shed a tear over it's imminent departure. Didn't think I would ever become so attached to a lump of metal - but what a lump!! Feel very lucky to have been able to experience the joys of owning such an iconic car.
I just hope the new beast lives up to all my expectations!

Tell me about it, nearly crying into my Alpen at breakfast and I`ve only just put the last 6 up for sale. keep having to cheer my self up thinking about my next car, if I ever find the right one.
Funny really even though I decided to sell them and buy just one really special car a little bit of me hopes nobody buys them. I used to like E-Bay.....

It is being delivered back to the factory tomorrow for a full service and checkover as it has hardly been used since May of last year. Hopefully it won't take the factory too long to do their magic before I can have it shipped back. Will only then have to wait a few months to get the winter and salt laden roads behind us before being able to really enjoy it!

Nooooooooo!
On the up side. We're all looking forward to seeing the big fella.
Winter is going to feel very strange without a Lambo to look at, Lisa.

whats your new car going to be lambo chick
Bought it a few weeks ago - photo is now available in my profile! (Where's the :tease: smiley when you want one?)
Mike if you take part in next year's Chateau run (details yet to be published) it will be out there with you.

Congrats !
I'm sure it was your Countach I saw at Goodwood a few years ago being judged (I think it was the big wing class or something similar, alongside a Pantera). After having something similar stare down at me from my bedroom wall as a nipper, it was one of the highlights of my day out.
The new car is something else !

Remember do not take her to tesco's (what a p*ll**k)
Damn straight.
A GT owner should only shop at Fortnums... or M&S if desperate!
Waitrose might get a visit at a push.
It's a good job Mr brundle and I don't share the same shopping habits, or I might have been persuaded that the GT was a complete no no.
Was the new car a local car? I remember seeing one at KHP at maidstone last spring. I was looking at Rarri's at the time so didnt take much notice of the model. Same colour and interior as yours though.
And the side on pic could almost be at "chimneys" at Larkfield.

No it's not local, it used to live oop North. The top picture in my profile was taken at South Lodge a couple of years ago (prior to my ownership obviously) in one of it's rare appearances in this part of the country.
The other two photos are publicity pictures, but not of my car. I still haven't taken delivery of mine yet as it is at the factory being fettled. Once it comes back, I will take some photos and update my profile with the 'real' thing.

I hope this doesn't clash with our factory road trip!

I've already been liaising with Ian to make sure that it doesn't 'cos he's down for the factory trip too (other commitments allowing). Don't know if he's spoken to you yet, but he's hoping to be able to confirm sometime after Christmas.
