TV coverage in retrospect
Discussion
A bit of a weak post here I'm afraid. However, I was at Monza this year and it was fantastic. Great seats overlooking the grid with the Ferrari crowd. Unfortunately, I didn't arrange for someone to record the TV footage. Is there anywhere you can get it? Tried Googling to no avail. Cheers.

If it's on the internet it won't be for very long as Bernie the Bolt comes down on anyone showing current Formula One TV footage like a ton of rancid bananas. Amateur video footage is OK but you're after TV footage and the only place you could find it is via eMule/eDonkey/Shareaza type p2p systems.

I've found a DVD on a newsgroup that I could download for you (only newsgroup members can access their files). No idea which channel the coverage might be from, but I think it's in English. There's another file which might be the entire race from an onboard cam, but I won't know until I've downloaded it. Let me know if you want me to waste some (illegal) bandwidth.
Do you know if you can watch .VOB files on your computer? The format I downloaded isn't a DVD format, but .VOB... I'm using a Mac and not sure if they work with Windows Media Player. You might be able to watch it with Video Lan Client (which is free!!). Anyway, I can burn the DVD for you, but you have a choice:
Either:
1) Full coverage from race preview to finish
or
2) Miss out on race preview and start watching from the warmup lap + entire race from Ferrari/Renault/McLaren onboard cameras.

.vob files are DVD format. You just need to start up a DVD player like PowerDVD to play it.
Ah, just noticed you mention Mac, I don't think it should make a difference, .vob files are what you get on a DVD disc so if you have something that plays a disc it will play the file.

FD...you are a star! I think that I'd quite like to see the preview and all that stuff, since I was there and missed out on the chat about Alonso's penalty during qualifying. Watching the whole race from inboard cameras might be a bit too hardcore. My other half thinks I'm too geeky about cars and if I was caught doing that she'd p!ss herself!!! I hope this is not too much trouble. Please email me re logistics of this. Thank you again. Thanks also to FWD for techie-help!
