The "Magic Mushroom" is the Fly Agaric which according to one web-site "in sublethal doses, the fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria) may produce visions and delirium, and it is perhaps one of the oldest known hallucinogens" wobble

Liberty caps have black fins underneath - not white.

They look like this www.northamptonshirewildlife.co.uk/images/psilocybe_semilanceata.jpg

Fly Agaric will make you very sick before you have any fun at all.

(you can tell which decade I grew up in)

Ive never tried the english ones, but from what I heard they were never all that good. I used to get mine from a girl who got em shipped over from amsterdam, until they became illegal of course irked

tbh even the good ones wern't that good. Trips were consistently inconsistent, which may be why they were never all that popular, being more of a roller coaster ride than a trip... :shudders:

That is NOT what is commonly known as "magic mushroom". Fly algaric will make you puke and possibly die. It grows in pine woods and is a very esay one to spot and avoid.

In the UK the magic mushroom is "Psilocybe Semilanceata" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psilocyb
It grows in pasture land grazed by sheep or cattle. Like the field above Holy Trinity church in North Malvern as one of my friends discovered.

I stand corrected, I just saw that it is highly hallucinogenic in smaller doses.

yes

Too many too often, and you'll be chucking at the merest whiff of one hurl

They were best dried, chopped, and chucked in a brew.
