My preferred mode of driving when the roof is on is drivers window down.
I get a lot of wind noise which I have traced using insulating tape;
Taped around base of door mirror, no effect.
Taped join at front sloping edge of door frame, no effect.
Taped edge of door mirror body the side nearest the window and a bit along the top (over the elastic bands), noise stops.
If I drive with the window closed I can't hear the noise, and cannot hear anything from the passenger one if I open that window.
Noise is from 30 mph upwards.
If I put my hand between the mirror and the door frame that alters the aerodynamics (first indication that TVR's have any!) and the noise stops, I think that closing the window is having the same effect, rather than its still doing it and I can't hear it.
Don't want to drive around with insulating tape on the door mirror, I know this is a bit of an odd one, has anyone else experienced it and have a solution?

Just been out and had another close look. One of the rubber bands was a bit twisted and not sitting in its groove properly.
That means I'll have to go out again tomorrow and try it!

I noticed I have a bit of wind noise after I put new rubber bands on my drivers mirror, but thought it was something else because the mirror had been off too. Now I know where to look for the wind noise thanks.

For God's sake get a grip, man! Next you'll be seeing spiders crawling around the footwell and earwigs coming out of the gearstick gaiter. Then you'll be seeing men in white coats.

I simply regard it as the car whispering to me!
