Fitted A Forge Dump Valve Today
Discussion
Cheers Bondy,
I was just worried about fitting it and then finding the sound annoying. I had one on my type R, but I could just bolt the re-circ one back on if I got sick of it, Not an option on the noble.
Why have you changed the spring? Mine currently has the standard one fitted, Green I think.
If it reduces the lag between gear changes I'll be happy, I've only driven the car 2K miles and already I want it faster, It's a slippery and expensive slope from hear.

Tis easy to disable. Just pull the vacumm feed off the BOV, plug it with an M10 bolt or similar screw (cable tie the plug to make sure no leaks) and wrap around the breather pipe. Mine is currently like that as the green spring gets lazy and it blows far too easily upsetting the ECU. I'm just been too busy to get the correct (yellow) spring from Forge.

It's not the green spring that's making your dump valve dump early, it's the fact you've dissabled it that's the problem. People think by plugging the vacuum pipe is a quick easy solution but it isn't. The dump valve under boost actually needs this pipe to be connected to keep it closed. When you boost, the pipe going to your dump valve has boost to keep it closed. It's only when you take your foot off the throttle you creat vacuum hence why it opens. The dump valves won't stay closed just on their spring force alone.
You can put stiffer springs in but you may not get the dump valve to work properly as the boost pressures simply aren't high enough from the T25's. If you had a T3 turbo then maybe or running 1 Bar plus.

Dave - read my post. I disabled it because it's dumping early due to weak spring.
Trevor Jasper of Roush who designed and tuned the Noble engine gave me instructions on how to disable it, as outlined above, so I think I know what I am doing....
It happily stays closed with the spring when there is no vacuum pipe connected - dump valves run off negative differential pressure, not positive.

I have some spare new yellow springs in my office somewhere from Forge if you are interested?
I am if you have some spare - mine's hissing badly now, been getting worse for a while and is now losing up to 0.2 bar on full boost through the leak. How much for the upgraded spring etc?
