re manufactured clutch

Hi all went to my mechanics workshoptoday to find out how my gearbox rebuild was going plus some other issues with my 4x4 and he informed me that the new clutch that had been fitted 30 miles before the gearbox expired on my 400 se was a re manufactured one bearing in mind this was from a tvr approved garage in Scotland not sure I can name them under pistonhead rules so I wont but who thinks I should put a proper clutch in it or am I just being a tart ???

IMHO, a clutch is a clutch. For "normal" driving as long as it works then fine.

If your doing some serious track days, then maybe go for the real deal?

No Lee I wont be doing track days im not into that sort of thing I was more worried about the implications of having to take the engine and box back out and would it be better to put the real deal in or am I heading for a fall thanks Mark.

Personally, I reacon you'd be fine with your clutch - even though it is not the real deal.
Wait for a few other people to post and make your conclusions based on the general thought and opinions of a few people.

for what it's worth i'd fit new parts - admitedly i've only had two recon clutches fail in about 50 clutch changes that i've done on different cars but what a pain in the rs it was - in both cases the finger springs were weak - i might just be paranoid now ......
