I am going to assume that you have the calulation which shows the -100 in a cell.

To make the cell background turn red:
Select the cell: Click on cell
Chose to use conditional formatting: Select from the menu bar Format/Conditional format
Set the criteria: Select "is less than" in the middle box and put 0 in the right hand box
Set the resulting formating: Click on the format button and then select the "paterns" tab and chose red.

If you want the text to turn red there is a simple way as you are using money:
Change the format of the cell: Click on Format / Cell / chose curreny / click on the red minus amount.
This will show negative money with a -£ in red.

Hope this helps

Another way is to use conditional formating.

If you look under format on the toolbar then conditional... you can set that if a cell within the range you select will turn red (or sky blue pink if you want) when ever the criteria is met....ie it turns negative. You can actually have 3 sets of criteria per cell, so it means you could have a colour if you win the lottery and your salary becomes £100 per second!

or alternatively, why not try using conditional formatting?
