Someone I know popped round last night to show me their new MINI Cooper convertible - a red model with Pepper pack.

I was very impressed.

Pick-up on the car was good all the way up to motorway speed (and beyond), the cabin was comfortable and the rear seats offered enough short-term space for our girlfriends.

My sister has one of these but I've never really paid attention to it - I've never been in it.

But I was pleasantly suprised with this one. It's certainly heading the list of what to buy for my other half next year.

I'm only 5'8" and my girlfriend is about 5'2", and she wouldn't want to have been there for much more than the 15mins that she was, but even so she was perfectly happy back there.

I liked the fact that you could have a conversation with the other passengers even when the roof was down, and at 70MPH no less. A completely different situation than with her MGF.
