F.E.A.R. packs in some damn fine combat and will put probably make you jump once or twice too.

Don't forget Painkiller. Just revived my copy along with the expansion pack. Good old fashioned FPS fun in a Serious Sam (but in hell) stylee

What he said.Just finished playing it, brilliant game, will make your spine run cold at times and then make you jump out the chair.Plenty of stuff to shoot to bits to.Prefered it to half life 2 which Im doing at the mo.

More of the same really, some nice new guns, but you'll be immune to the same old fright tactics. Combat is still as good as before though, so if you're after more of the same and can find it reasonably cheap then why not.

FEAR Extraction Point basically gives you a handful of extra levels, and two new weapons - a laser carbine and a chaingun. It moves the plot on a little, as it takes place immediately after the conclusion of FEAR; as the name suggests, it chronicles the player-character's journey to the extraction point. In terms of length, it took me a weekend to complete it.

The levels are very similar to the first game - it really is just 'more of the same' in terms of feel and design - but I found the pacing somewhat inferior. There were lots of times where there would be a very intense firefight, followed by a relatively long period of wandering round alone, triggering spooky goings on and visions, until the next big set-piece.

That said, I personally found it fun and reasonably good for the money. However, you should be aware that it appears more resource intensive than the original game.
