Hi all,

I've frequented the car forums a bit, but I sold my S2000

and got me one of these.

Yamaha 05 R6. Passed my test only about 6 weeks ago, but wanted to get one of these for ages. Been riding it for a few weeks now.

LOVING IT!!!

Time to go and check out the rest of the threads.....Happy riding!

Hi matey,

It was.
It's a fab car, and would recommend it to anyone that like driving a driver's car (such a cliche, I know but it's true).

I hope they do a complete (even better!) revision in a year or 2, and I'll probably be back in the market.

Hi San & welcome. Some nice toys there mate!

Gratz on passing, just passed two weeks ago myself, still well chuffed. How did you find insurance for the R6? I'd have been over a grand for one of them

Hi all,

It WAS very clean. Picked up a few bugs since then though. But hey, it's for riding, not polishing.

Insurance was a tad over £700 for me...nearly the same as the S2000 was, so not too much of a problem. I'm 31 though, so that may make a difference.

Congrats to those who have recently passed. A mate of mine texted me to say he'd passed his today.

I reckon we could solve this global warming malarkey ourselves by just getting everyone out on bikes instead of cars.

Hello mate, I was 34 when I passed and got myself a GSXR600. £650 with ebike. Give them a try.

In fact a few months later I got the R6. Premium went up to £750. Then I smash it up, and claim for £3,500. Next insurance preium?.......down by £100!!! How the hell they worked that out is beyond me!!
