Massa success due to dirty undies!

Ferrari racer Felipe Massa has revealed an odd superstition that he says could contribute to his success at F1 races.

Spain's Marca newspaper revealed that the 25-year-old Brazilian credits not changing his underpants for three days for aiding his home win at Interlagos earlier this month.

"If my weekend begins well," Massa confessed, "I use the same underpants on Saturday. If that is also a good day, I wear them on Sunday.

"That is what I did in Brazil."

He must have been just a wee bit ripe by the finish of that race!

No wonder Alonso and Button were keen to get away from him on the podium!

Seriously though, it's not really the sort of story you want to reveal to build up your image as a super-cool F1 driver

Coulthard used to do the same - except that he used the same, increasingly threadbare, lucky underpants for years.

I guess some women would want to bag any F1 driver, but I would have thought for the more discerning laydeez Massa would not be top of their list? Perhaps this needs a separate topic thread.

Hate to be an expect on the pants issue but....Coulthard had a pair of lucky undercrackers when he was in Formula Opel. His mother discovered he was wearing these horrible pants when he had his overalls cut off after an accident, and she forbade him from wearing them again, though he did carry them around in his luggage for a while thereafter.
These trolleys were the cause of the breakup between DC and the lovely Simone Abdelnour who mistook them for a handkerchief.
