I've recently been doing quite a bit of airbrushing and would like to cut some masks for lettering. The problme is although there are loads of downloadable fonts available I am struggling to get them to work in anything other than Word. If I do get them to work in photoshop I am struggling to make them big enough to do the job for me.
So heres the questions.
How do I get all the fonts to show up in Photoshop?
And how do I get them bigger than the sliding scale that normally only goes to 72pts?
Thanks in advance
Mike

To make the size bigger than 72 just click on the 72 and a cursor should appear. Then just type in your desired size.

As for the fonts, If you have already put them in windows font folder, have you tried adding them to Photoshops font folder?

Hope that helps

Are you airbrushing for real, DeVilbiss stylee, or "airbrushing" within Photoshop? In either case I'd suggest it's best to create a mask using Illustrator but I expect you're using a PC in which case my advice makes no sense at all.

Hi, Photoshop is, as you may be aware, multi-functional.
In respect of not 'seeing' the fonts - have you restarted Photoshop AND the computer since down-loading the new fonts? Of course, some fonts will not work with PS, but this is a simple trial and error exercise.

As to font size, as someone has correctly pointed out, you can highlight the font size number and type in the desired size. However, you may not be aware that there is a far more productive way of operating.
1. Create a New Layer and type anything you want on screen with the text cursor
2. Open the 'Character' palette
3. Select the 'Move' tool in the main palette ie: the 'pointer arrow'
4. Now highlight the font size number in the 'Character' palette
Now instead of typing in the desired number merely use your up and down arrows and the text will increase or decrease on screen.
You can also highlight the font in the 'Character' palette and again move up and down to change the font on screen as you select. This is a much faster way of 'seeing' exactly how the characters will look. Email me if you need any more tips. Goodluck ....
