All, I am looking for brake upgrade recommendations please.

I upgraded my pads to Porterfield R4S to front and rear, however after 1 trackday the fronts are 90% worn (the backs are perfect) and I have an ABS warning light on.

I was wondering if anyone has tried other pads? I am thinking about trying Ferrodo DS2500 but I hear from BMW guys that they eat discs.

On my M3 I have Pagid Blues on the front and Pagid blacks (race pads) on the back. These are fantastic (a lot better than the porterfields) and have lasted 4 trackdays so far and are still going strong and . However they squeal like a bastard during normal road use.

I am also thinking of biting the bullet and upgrading the whole front kit to AP Racing or Brembo (which I understand Verdis does a kit for) etc.

However has anyone had any experience of these on trackdays or have they tried any others?

Many thanks,
BJ

normally people sing the praise of the AP setup - but not sure what pads you would run with them? if the pads are AP items why not try them first without switching your discs?

I had the AP6 pot upgrade on my 355 at the front with huge disks and ran pagid grey pads i think frommemory (was a while ago)...awesome set up (put front calipers onto the rear and drilled disks)....used to rip my spleen out under heavy braking

Probably the Pagid RS42 blues (carbon based) or RS29 yellows (ceramic based) but yes good point, it good be worth trying those out on their own first
