Driving home, along the Coast Road in Newcastle I noticed a rather unsettling thing, where we used to have numpties sitting in the middle lane, leaving the left hand lane free for proper drivers to make progress - they've now all moved to the left...

Well... what's wrong with that - I hear you say? Nothing... except for the fact the numpties haven't moved at all - THEY'VE CHEVRONNED OFF THE LEFT HAND LANE... What used to be a nice quick 3 lane road, has now turned to a slow, more dangerous and ripe for a reduction dual carriageway.

We should have a sweepstake as to how long it stays a derestricted 70mph road, some of it is already a 50mph so I can see 'them' changing it to all being 50mph.

All I can say is: NUMPTIES OF THE WORLD, YOU MAY HAVE WON THE BATTLE BUT YOU WILL LOSE THE WAR!!!

If it's any consolation, I passed the Nutley community speed patrol today. They've been mentioned before on this site, a group of local people who feel that 60mph on a straight country A road is way too much. They'd rather you stuck to 30!
There were 3 of them with some sort of electronic sign that shows how fast you are going.

Unfortunately the sign has only got 2 digits, so I couldn't tell how fast I was going as I passed them on the bike today.

Lol - nice one
theyve got (or had) one of those electronic boards where i work and for a fortnight it was like santa pod with all the nova boys steaming through the speed trap to set the fastest speed. yeah - it really worked to keep speeds down....
