Gorgeous colour, on my third TVR and finally found a car in the right nick in the right colour!

Paint code is as follows (I think!): P422-M3385U

Not sure where it comes from, it's similar to Porsche's Iris Blue, though has more purple in it. I seem to remember someone muttering it was a Bentley colour, but not sure about that.

I was told it was BMW Amethyst with other tints added at the factory.
Why dont you check with Gerbil at Bristol Avenue he knows his stuff.
The paint is expensive!

Snigger, many thanks for that Gerbil, good to clear it up. Amused the code in mine is wrong! Does also explain how some Rolex blue cars look a different hue to others if there were a couple of slightly different versions. Oh well, at least as it's BMW paint it should be easy to get hold of for a respray!

Thanks for help out!

Hi Gerbil,

As another owner of a Rolex Blue with the paint code of P422-M3385U, how does one know which version one has?

Mine is a 1999 Chimaera, which compared to a Rolex Blue Griff I've seen is a "brighter" colour. (As an aside, comparing mine side-by-side to the Griff really upset the Griff owner as my "colour" was what he wanted and his had just been resprayed!)

Thanks,

Simon

Blimey phil , you are forging ahead.

Where are you getting the bodywork and paint done?
Did you find a good specialist locally??

Am i right in thinking the paint codes are under the bonnet? If so i'll take a look to see what mine is.
