Scanner recommendation please :)
Discussion
After something for the office that'll primarily be used to scan forms in (we have the OCR and forms processing software to deal with it).
Not a huge amount annually, but a reasonably big hit once a year of 4000+ forms and 100 or so per month for the rest of the year, so a document feeder is a must (ie don't want one where you have to open, put in paper, scan, open, remove etc etc - want to just load it up and let it run).
A4 is the maximum size required.
Budget less than a grand.

We use Kodak i40s for one of our projects that involves lots of scanning. They are quick, hold around 100-150 pages and have a small desktop footprint - cost around £450.
If you need single-side only, then the i30 at around £350 will do the job.
Are they all good regular A4 pages BTW, or will done be erregular, such as scruched up, with staples etc.

Double sided required.
Good-ish
They'll be returned to us by post (in an envelope), so could be folded or slightly mangled by the postal system. We were planning on using C5 postage paids but if folding makes a big difference to the scanning workflow, we'll go for the slightly more expensive C4.

If the reply is folded neatly you should be OK, but it's the exceptions that will get you. If one badly folded or mangled then the paper may not sit straight against the feeder and will get pulled down in an uneven fashion.

Bugger...looks like it's DLs for the replypaid envelopes, ie 3 way folding.
Right then, the woman who decided on that can monitor the scanning feed
That'll be the best way, I've not found a way yet to completely remove the human element from scanning. Right then, the woman who decided on that can monitor the scanning feed

Our system (accountancy outsourcing) has a number of mechanisms in place to prevent lost documents or bad scans, but it takes time and effort to monitor.
