Have admired this 996 (2002) turbo since a sort of distant friend bought it. Now he`s got the 997 on order he is selling it. Black and well spec`d with something like 40K mls on the clock. I`ve never been in it and to be honest wouldn`t be looking at one yet if this hadn`t cropped up. So, just how good are they and what should I be looking for/expect. I reckon It`s probably been meticulously maintained and is in cracking condition. Many thanks.

They drive fast and planted, although they feel a little heavy due to the 4wd and turbo lag. Overall, amazing cars, viciously quick once the turbos get spinning. But a little annodine.

Why don't you take it for a spin?

Sounds like an odd reason to buy a tt to me. First drive the tt, a regular C2 and a GT3 to see what you really expect a car to deliver. The tt is a great machine but many prefer the RWD models and a GT3 is much more fun on track. Lot's of options...
