Megane Metalised Windscreens

Does anyone know if all the new Meganes (2003 onwards) are fitted with a metalised windscreen?

I was about to by a GPS camera system but I will be changing my car to a Megane after Christmas and I have just read on the manufacturers site that the system will not work with Renault metalised windscreens!

AFAIK all are, my Clio 172 (2003) and Grand Scenic (2004) both have UV reflective screens that affect GPS.

The Scenic has a "clear" area around the rear view mirror where you can connect an antenae, or GPS unit if small enough. The Clio has this clear area and another small one at the bottom of the dash. Most likely the Megane is like that of the Scenic, so you may need an external aerial to make best use of a GPS unit.

it can be a pain pushing the wire between the trim and the screen alternative; feed it through the car to the back parcelshelf

Thanks for the info, looks like a seperate antenna will be the way to go then.

If your not sure wear a pair or polarised sun glasses, the windscreen will look really cool and pretty if it's got the heat reflective stuff in it!
