Has anybody heard whether the 2007 X5 will be available with the 2.0 diesel unit....

I'm sure it wouldn't set the world on fire but can't help thinking there would be a good market for this combination?

I did see an advert for a 5 series with this engine in. But an X5? Its even bigger/heavier I think. Would make for a pretty naff drive I would imagine.

Cheers, P

That is the big question, would it be a bad drive???...

Bearing in mind that the 520d is able to clock the 0-60 in 8.5 seconds.... my guess is that an X5 with the 2.0d would still manage 0-60 in less than 12sec... that would make it faster than the existing Range Rover Diesel and God knows they sell plenty of those.

I also don't think my wife would even notice if she only had 180hp under the bonnet of her X5??? so long as she could get the kids to school

I think that's marketing spiel that should be reserved for the M cars.

I understood it would be available as 3.0 Diesel (as per the current car), but it would also be available with the same engine from the new 335D

Won't be too bad - what does it put out, 170bhp? Added to the sustantial torque, it should be adequate for mums on the school trip
